SPRINGER, New Mexico
Where the High Plains Meet the Foothills
With a history as colorful as the buildings that line its streets, Springer finds its beginnings in the turbulent days of the Maxwell Land Grant, when the Utes and Apaches roamed the territory, and trappers, prospectors, buffalo hunters, cattlemen, and outlaws sought their fortunes all across the land.
Springer was named for Frank Springer, a brilliant lawyer from Iowa who arrived in Cimarron on February 22, 1873. As attorney for the Maxwell Land Grant Company, he won stubbornly contested litigations which lasted nearly 20 years. An historic case was won in the U.S. Supreme Court, and it is said that Mr. Springer presented one of the finest land grant arguments ever made before that tribunal. Mr. Springer became president of the Maxwell Land Grant Company in 1891 and directed the development of this vast area into cattle ranches and farming, timber and mining enterprises. His CS Ranch brought one of the first herds of hereford cattle to the area in 1882. The CS Cattle Company is operated today by his descendants. He and his brother Charles were responsible for building Eagle Nest Dam in 1916. A man of many interests, he was a world authority in geology and paleontology -- his fossil crinoid collection is now in the U.S. National Museum in Washington, D.C. He was a founder of both New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas and the New Mexico Art Museum in Santa Fe.
Springer is also home to New Mexico'sfirst and only electric chair (complete with a battered glamour mannequin about to be fried) and a "shoe of a giant" -- a brown wingtip that once belonged to Robert Wadlow, the world's tallest man.

Enough disk to cook for a party!
I received the disk promptly. I have only cooked on it twice so far. Very unique way to prepare meals. Very entertaining. Looks like it will take a fair amount of time to season... much like cast iron. Looking forward to it. I recommend the case for the disk to somewhat protect the disk and keep the critters away

Awesome disk with spring handles
I am delighted with this disk and love those springs handles, am sure it will give me many years of delicious cooking. It is a 1/4" thick and is big, I mean BIG enough to cook for many people. The workmanship is the best, this product is fabricated by persons that knows their business!... No regrets, but I should had order a smaller disk, since is only my old lady and me in the house, I think something like 18" diameter would had more appropriate for us. All and all, I am a satisfy customer and I would buy again from this company

Great Discada for a group to cook on
I purchased a 18" Discada first. Great for a Family of 4. I wanted a little more room to cook for when guess came over. The 22" is just right. Solid, great handles, and quick to heat up and cook on. Southwest Disk, are great people, and know the Discada market. For a disc and a burner, for under $150.00, this is a steal. I have add this to my Primo, and my 4 Weber Grills. Tom C

Well worth the purchase.
I own charcoal and Propane grills, but neither will do what this does. I can take this anywhere. It is awesome to use. My first cook on it was not only fun to use but definitely a great conversation piece. The food was delicious. I find myself wanting to use it often. Thank you for a great product.

22" disc is everything I expected
This disc is very well made and I'm sure it will give me a lifetime of enjoyment. It fits perfectly on my 22" Weber kettle. I'm experimenting with how much charcoal to use in my chimney starter. I think the chimney half full might be enough for an average cook. This thing gets really hot on my Weber kettle. Also, there's the Mojoe griddle which also looks great, but at three times the cost, this thing makes more sense.

Built Strong
My 22" disc arrived and I cooked with it last weekend. My loved the Fajita's and Siad that we should have purchased one a long time ago. Great product

Beautiful, bringing my home in the Southwest to me now that I've moved!
This thing is beautiful, and with my buddies coming up from Santa Fe, I knew I finally had to bite the bullet, and purchase one of these. The carne adovada this beauty produced was a huge hit with all. If I could offer one piece of constructive criticism, it would be to use a deeper plow disc so as to accommodate more food! I didn't want a flat-bottomed disco, though, so this might be the best option here. To place volume in perspective, I used a 5lb pork loin to make this first batch, and the disco was full to the brim. Only reason I docked a star. Otherwise, it is impeccable! Love it!
