A trivet, also known as a 'hot plate,' is placed between the discada and the dining table to protect the table from heat damage.
Trivet also refers to tripods used to elevate pots from the coals of an open fire. (The word trivet itself ultimately comes from Latin tripes meaning "tripod".) Metal trivets are often tripod-like structures with three legs to support the trivet horizontal in order to hold the dish or pot above the table surface.

Discada Plow Disc Trivet
This trivet is very well built and it's made from solid iron. It balances my 18" Madrid Discada perfectly.

perfect!
I use it when I serve the food in Discada as a hot plate!

Very convenient.
This really helps with the convenience of the disk and presentation of the food. I don’t have to remove foods from the disk to serve. I place the trivet on the counter or table. With gloves, I grab the hot Trinity handles and carry the disk full of good grub inside. Serve right off of the surface of the plow disc. The food stays hot and no serving dishes to clean. The trivet is quite sturdy and rugged. It’s also very ornate. So glad I bought it.

DISCADA PLOW DISC TRIVET
Really happy to see that the trivet is made from solid iron stock and not hollow tubing. It is in the white so I am looking at blueing or doing an oil rub on it. Only issue I had was the finials had some sharp edges but a quick de-burr with a wire brush took care of it. Great for display or serving from the discada on a table. Bought a second one with another discada for a gift! Great pairing with the aluminum cover.
