The Mighty Rio Grande - One of the longest rivers of North America. The Rio Grande flows out of the snowcapped Rocky Mountains in Colorado and journeys 1,900 miles to the Gulf of Mexico. It passes through 800 foot chasms of the Rio Grande Gorge, a wild and remote area of northern New Mexico. The canyon provides a wide variety of recreational opportunities, luring fishermen, hikers, artists, and whitewater boating enthusiasts. Access in the upper canyon is restricted by the terrain, but several trails lead to the rivers edge. The two most popular whitewater segments are the Taos Box, 17 miles of Class IV whitewater, and the 5 mile Racecourse, a Class III segment. The lower canyon is paralleled by state roads, and receives the majority of the recreational use.
The Rio Grande and Red River designation was among the original eight rivers designated by Congress as Wild and Scenic in 1968. The designation was extended by legislation in 1994 to include an additional 12 miles of the Rio Grande. The designated area includes 60 miles of the Rio Grande from the Colorado/New Mexico state line to just beyond BLM's County Line Recreation Site, and the lower 4 miles of the Red River.

Disc Cooking Add Another Dimension to Outdoor Cooking
Having a grill and/ or smoker for cooking is foundational to outdoor cooking, the Southwest Disk adds another dimension and kicks options up a notch! Think fajitas plus...not only can vegetables be cooked and moved to keep warm, tortillas can be cooked and held as well as the meat sauted . My ribeyes are excellent when cooked on my Egg; however, cooking/basting in butter is delish as well...with the Disk, it's a snap.

Awesome!!!
Love it, I felt like a kid on Christmas when it arrived and couldn't wait to get outside to use it. I called everyone over and cooked my first dish of Discada. Everyone loved it. Very well made, and the horseshoe handles just gave it that extra cool touch. It is easy to use and very easy to clean up. My bag and lid should be coming soon to complete it. This has got to be one of the best purchases Ive made for myself in a long time. Looking forward to cooking up more meals soon. Also the recipe book was really nice too.

great buy
Wanted one for years finally got one. I was planning on making my own but could not find any discs in my area and cost as much to have one shipped so I went with one already made. I went with southwest because I like the shape and look they offered compared to other brands out there. I should have gone with the Roswell disc because I ended up welding threaded pieces on it to be used with legs over an open fire. I do like the option of using it over a fire or with a propane burner/stand. If you enjoy cooking outside I'd recommend getting one, great for camping, hunting trips or just backyard cookouts.
